Instructor for the MTWS Lewistown Open Members’ Show and Workshop

PAINTING THE PORTRAIT AND LANDSCAPE IN WATERCOLOR
BEGINNER (some basic experience required) TO ADVANCED

Stan Miller has been a professional painter in watercolor and egg tempera for more than thirty years.
The artist has exhibited his paintings in numerous exhibitions, galleries and museums.
A signature member of the American Watercolor Society as well as an AWS award winner,
Stan Miller also teaches workshops and classes in Spokane and throughout the United States.

Mr. Miller will demonstrate the Landscape painting on Saturday morning and the Portrait on Sunday morning.

Students will have the option of working from instructor hand-outs or from their own materials (photos, sketches, imagination, etc.)

The fundamentals of painting, materials, technique, color, composition and design will be discussed. Also, how to choose a paintable subject based on the students skill level.

Realism, Impressionism and Abstract styles will also be demonstrated and discussed.

Students also have the option of bringing one of their paintings, if they have one, for the instructor to critique (this would be a private, not a class critique).
